Catch the Holiday Spirit in My Town
Get ready to jingle, mingle, and snuggle with Kris Kringle at Christmas in the Village, Saturday, December 6, hosted by the Let Freedom Ring committee.
- Begin the big day at Breakfast with Santa and the Grinch at the White Pines Lodge and Restaurant, 6712 W. Pines Rd. Breakfast with Santa is 9 to 11 a.m.; wagon rides are 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. You can’t help but catch the holiday spirit in this picturesque, pine-filled state park just outside Mt. Morris.
- You can have cookies with Santa at the Mt. Morris Senior and Community Center, 9 E. Front St., from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Photo ops and fun activities await.
- Have a DIY crafting good time from 10:30 a.m. to noon, across the street from the Center. Swing by the Mt. Morris Community Library, 105 S. McKendrie Ave., for fun, free, and easy make-your-own holiday crafts for all ages.
- The Mt. Morris Historical Museum in College Hall on the Village campus, 16 S. Wesley Ave., will be open noon to 3 p.m. The museum is free and open to the public; donations are welcome.
- Don’t miss Santa leading a lighted Christmas parade at 5 p.m., which is open to decorated vehicles. The parade ends at the Village Square campus, where Santa will greet the waiting crowd, then visit with every child. Kids will receive a free book, courtesy of the Mt. Morris Community Library Foundation. It’s a photo op you can’t resist. Details here.
- End the big day with dinner or a nightcap at the local pubs, bars, and restaurants in Mt. Morris: Cimino’s Pizza, the Pepper Mill, Mullarkey’s Bar & Grill, and the Idle Hour.
Mt. Morris is full of holiday spirit, and you’re invited! See our event calendar for more ways to celebrate the season.
