Have “Breakfast with the Mayor” on Wednesday, November 5, at the Mt. Morris Senior & Community Center, 9 E. Front St. Breakfast is served, for a nominal fee, from 8 to 10 a.m. while you learn the latest community news, connect with residents, and ask questions of the Village President or other officials.

Get a flu shot from the Ogle County Health Department, and explore healthcare exhibits at the Mt. Morris Senior & Community Center’s Health Fiesta, November 7, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event is open to the public, with giveaways, raffles, and a taco lunch for a donation.

Discover the fun and artistic creations you can make with a simple pink eraser at Block Printing with Pink Erasers, sponsored by Encore Mt. Morris and Highland Community College. The class will be held at the Mt. Morris Senior & Community Center on Saturday, November 8, 2025, 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The $45 fee includes all supplies. Register here.

Get all “gangstuh’” at the Mt. Morris Public Library’s free program, “Gangster History of the Midwest,” Nov. 9, 2 p.m., at 105 S. McKendrie Ave. It’s a fascinating look at the Midwest’s most notorious gangs and criminal members by author and researcher Chad Lewis. It’s free and open to the public, no library card required.

Bring your lawn chairs for a movie on the big screen at the Center’s free community movie, November 10, at 6 p.m., 9 E. Front St. Free popcorn or bring your own snacks for this family-friendly movie about the Latin holiday, Day of the Dead.

How do you create a charcuterie cup? Learn how on November 12, 6 p.m., at the Mt. Morris Public Library. In this free class, you will create and take home a charcuterie cup. Register on the library’s social media page, or call 815-734-6354. Register soon—the class fills up fast!

Learn about the history of Mt. Morris through images, memorabilia, and more at the Mt. Morris Historical Museum in the lobby of College Hall, 16 S. Wesley Ave. Admission is free, although donations are welcome. The museum is open on Saturday, November 15, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Explore the wilds and wonders of Kenya in East Africa through the eyes of a recent traveler. Beautiful Kenya is a free program at the Mt. Morris Public Library, Saturday, November 15, at 2 p.m. The community is invited. No library card required.

Bring the whole gang to Family Reading Night, November 20, 5:30 to 7 p.m., at the Mt. Morris Public Library. Principal Huels of the Oregon School District will read a book to the kids, then everyone can play classic board games and enjoy snacks. It’s free and you do not need a library card to join the fun.
