  • Expect a spooktacular time at “Tapestry of Shadows,” works by Edgar Allen Poe, performed by the Performing Arts Guild, October 10, 11, and 12 at Pinecrest Grove Allure. Tickets and details at performingartsguild.com or call the Grove at 815-734-2103.
  • The arts continue with Encore! Mt. Morris art classes in October and November. Learn the basics of stenciling in Stenciling 101 on October 11. Create something fun with a simple pink eraser in Block Printing with Pink Erasers, November 8. Encore! and Highland Community College are partnering to offer these opportunities.   • Ogle County Farm Stroll, October 12, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., includes three distinctive, farm-to-table Mt. Morris farms: BerryView Orchard, Hough’s Maple Lane Farm, and Dietrich Ranch. More info, including a map, from the Ogle County Extension office (815-732-2191).
  • Bring your friends and family to the (Let Freedom Ring) Family Fall Festival on the Village campus, October 12 from 1 to 3 p.m. Wander the craft show and penny carnival. Pull out your best Halloween or seasonal costume and enter the costume parade. Chow down on chili or baked potatoes. Bring the kids for the Trunk or Treat. Enter a creative jack-o’-lantern in the Pumpkin Carving Contest, open to all ages. Pumpkin Contest details are on the Village calendar here.
  • The Moose Lodge is hosting a fall festival on October 25, 1-4 p.m., with games and prizes, food and drink, pumpkin painting, and an indoor trunk and treat. This free event is open to the public at their lodge, 101 Moose Drive.
