Education
Education and learning resources are a top priority. See the schools serving the Village of Mt. Morris, as well as area colleges and universities. People of all ages will find what they are looking for at the Mt. Morris Public Library, a busy community resource that offers so much more than just books! If you are interested in Mt. Morris history, visit our museum, and discover fun memorabilia, our legacy as a printing mecca and why we call the Village Square “the campus.”
Parks & Recreation
Mt. Morris is surrounded by lush parks, reserves, and recreation spots – not to mention our own Village parks and playgrounds. There are endless opportunities close by for hiking, biking, camping, exploring, playing, adventuring, or just relaxing in the great outdoors.
Healthcare
Healthcare services are vital to a healthy community. We are proud to offer a pharmacy and rehabilitation facility in town, with area healthcare providers and hospitals nearby. Two food pantries are open to Mt. Morris residents, staffed by volunteers. Explore the active community centers and services that we offer older adults.
Churches
Mt. Morris has active and engaged churches that welcome visitors and provide a variety of opportunities to worship with others who share your faith. Some congregations also offer social programs and services like a food pantry, and community Vacation Bible School, and host community events.
Ogle County Airport
The Ogle County Airport is a small, but well-used airport on the east edge of Mt. Morris that features a grass runway and hosts an immensely popular fly-in breakfast on the weekend of July 4th. See Clubs and Organizations for more information about the groups that manage it.
Coliseum
The Coliseum on the campus is an indoor recreation facility with a gymnasium, stage, and bleachers. It is available for indoor sporting events, as well as markets, sports camps, and festival events. Contact the Village Clerk’s office if you are interested in renting the space.
