Christmas in the Village
Celebrate Christmas in the Village of Mt. Morris on Saturday, December 7, 2024. Activities and celebrations all day for all ages. Please bring a free-will donation, if possible, for the Let Freedom Ring Committee, The Center, or Toys for Tots.
9-11 a.m. Pancake Breakfast with Santa at the Mt. Morris Senior & Community Center, 9 E. Front St. Plus kids activities and a craft fair for grownups.
10:30 a.m. – noon. Christmas activities and a free book for every kid at the Mt. Morris Public Library, 105 S. McKendrie Ave.
2-3:30 p.m. Open House and pictures with Santa at Allure of Pinecrest, 414 S. Wesley Ave.
4:30-7 p.m. Special exhibit at the Mt. Morris Historical Museum in College Hall, 16 S. Wesley Ave., featuring cartoons about life in 1925 Mt. Morris by former resident, Heathcote “Hec” Mann.
5 p.m. Lighted Christmas Parade to join or watch. To participate, light up your vehicle and line up in front of the old David L Rahn school building (105 W Brayton Rd.). Santa will lead the parade on the normal Let Freedom Ring parade route (East on Brayton to Ogle, North on Ogle to Main, West on Main to Wesley Ave.), and the parade will end at the Campus where Santa will meet with kids. Free hot cocoa and hot cider on the campus. Tree decorating contest winners will be announced.
