Strawfest Day – August 22
Strawfest Day on August 22 is the best of the U.S. National Straw Sculpting Competition! It begins with a 5k Strawfest Strut (run/walk) at 8 a.m., and continues all day with games for young and old like bale races, build-your-own sculptures, and more, while free music spills out from the Straw Jam stage. Regional bluegrass favorite Grass Attack will close out the day with a free concert from the Warren G. Reckmeyer bandshell on the Village Square campus. Food trucks and local bars and restaurants offer food options. And don’t forget to take selfies with the straw sculptures.
