Free Summer Concert Season Begins!

Name your favorite music genre; you can probably hear it in Mt. Morris this summer. For free. Not kidding.
June 11, the Kable Concert Band kicks off the free summer concert season with their weekly Wednesday night concerts, 7:30 to 9 p.m. at the Warren G. Reckmeyer Bandshell on the Village square campus. Band members, guest performers, and conductors are some of the best in the region playing a range of music from classic to patriotic to Broadway and movie themes, to – you name it! It’s a charming slice of Americana and a fun way to spend a summer evening. Arrive early for the ice cream social fundraiser hosted weekly by various local organizations. The Kable Concert Band will play weekly through July 30.
Mt. Morris Jamboree concerts hit the bandshell stage on Friday, June 13, with Ricky Lindy & the Wild Ones paying tribute to Roy Orbison, and Rock and Roll hits of the 1950’s, 60’s and 70’s. It is a wild time that you won’t want to miss. See the complete Jam concert schedule here. Come early to claim your spot on a bench or plant your lawn chair. Sample the food vendors, craft and market vendors, and visit the art gallery and Mt. Morris museum. Concerts, the art gallery, and the museum are free, although donations are welcome.
This amazing free concert season continues on Saturday, June 14, at the 8th annual Porchfest. More than 19 local musicians will perform free 45-minute concerts every hour on the hour from 1 to 5 p.m. on porches around town. Details, a map, and food and restroom options are on the Encore Porchfest website here. Check the link often for updates.
