The Village of Mt. Morris was incorporated in 1857 and operates as a non-home rule municipality. It is governed by a Village President and a Board of six Trustees. The Village President and Board of Trustees are elected at a municipal election and hold office for four years.

Regular Village Board meetings are on the second and fourth Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. at Village Hall. All residents are welcome and encouraged to attend. All meetings are recorded.
