Mt. Morris has a long and vibrant history as a pioneer in higher education, a booming printing and publishing mecca, a thriving rural community, and a re-invented arts destination. The Mt. Morris Museum has fun and fascinating items from all facets of our history.
In June 2024, the Mt. Morris Museum reopened in its new location in the lobby of College Hall on the historic Village Square campus. It tells the first chapter of our story, beginning in the 1830s when white people settled here on the prairie. We are carefully curating our collection and soliciting funds to tell the next chapters soon. In the meantime, the museum is open and accessible during public events and functions at College Hall.
