Mt. Morris has a rich history dating back to the 1800s and you’re invited to see how it all began.

The Mt. Morris Museum will re-open June 7 in its new location, the first floor of the newly renovated College Hall, on the Village campus. Now, you can easily visit the museum and learn about our roots from the prairie to farmland to a lively rural community.

Like early settlers migrating to the Midwest from the east coast, the museum’s migration to its new location will take time. June 7 is just the beginning of the museum’s move to a more open and accessible new home in the heart of Mt. Morris. More chapters in our story will appear in the museum over the coming months.

June 7 also kicks off the free Mt. Morris Jamboree Friday night concert series where you can jam to The Brass From the Past and visit the student art show at the Old Sandstone Art Gallery. Then, stop by the new home of the Mt. Morris Museum at College Hall – all on the Village campus.

Plan now to spend June 7 in My Town, Mt. Morris. Here is our Event Calendar.
